This Austrian documentary explains how the Austrians became true supporters of the Third Reich after the annexation of March / April 1938. The following period, from April to November 1938, the Nazi’s not only suppressed and discriminated ethnic minorities. For the greater part of the people living in the ‘Ostmark’ this period meant economic growth, new opportunities and gave them a sense of belonging.
In the Third Reich the raging unemployment was brought back to a minimum while everybody could enjoy a cruise holiday in the Kraft durch Freude program. Or everybody thought so anyway, most of the program was propaganda.
How the Nazi’s used propaganda in the Third Reich, with visions of a peaceful and prosperous future with a Volkswagen for everyone, is shown in this lengthy documentary.
