Life as Stalin: Biography

The life of Stalin still captivates many as he was one of the most intriguing figures of the 20th century – and one of the most debated. These series depict the life of the revolutionary would-be clergyman from Georgia who became the victor of the Second World War. Although this documentary is not stunning in his historical accurateness, it still gains a lot credibility by the recurrent interviews with Dimitri A. Wolkogonow, a leading Russian historian on the matter. Forget the narrator’s American accent and take a look at the abundant contemporary video-material of the early Soviet State and Soviet Union.

This embedded video is over 3 hours, containing the four parts of ‘Life as Stalin’: The Russian Revolution (1), Villages and Factories (2), Red Terror (3) and Soviet Superpower (4).
