A history of Britain (8): The British Wars

This episode of A history of Britain focuses on the 17th-century, the age of civil war and revolutions. The age started out with a stabil monarchy, although James I wasn’t liked by either peers or subjects. His son, Charles I, was a friendly man, but had a penchant for making bad decisions. As he ascended tot the throne in 1625 he lacked and needed Parliament for approbation of new taxes. Instead, he came into conflict with Parliament, and abolished the political organ, prompting a series of events that led to civil war and the death of a King.
