The Crusades

12 October 2013 by Jan Huisman in Documentary Middle Ages Religion War - No Comments

Ever wondered why just naming the crusades still sparks anger in Middle Eastern countries? After watching this documentary, you will understand. Terry Jones (yes, the Monty Python-guy) takes the journey medieval knights made, from Western Europe to Jerusalem. The battle against the infidels started in Worms and Cologne, where the jewish population became the first victim of the crusades. As it is Jones who is doing the talking, it is a terrible history told with a laugh. Backup by historians, this account on the crusades is an accurate account and very worthwhile watching.

Episode 1 Pilgrims In Arms / Episode 2 Jerusalem

Episode 3 Jihad / Episode 4: Destruction
